Program Goals.

The program focuses on teaching the subject the proper activation of the pelvic floor, both as a contraction and release technique and as the use of muscles (biomechanics) to support function. This program improves a set of specific parameters, recovering optimal function or enhancing it if required.

The objectives of the program include:
– Improved tone and responsiveness of the pelvic musculature
– Recovery of urinary and fecal continence
– Improvement of sexual function
– Re-education of the synergy between pelvic floor, diaphragm and abdominal muscles
– Strengthening of postural stability of the pelvis

These goals are monitored through the use of various devices employed for initial diagnostics and evaluation of progression.

he Pelvic Floor Re-education Program is divided into 3 distinct and progressive modules:

Module 1 – Pelvic Floor Assessment

  • Initial assessment of pelvic floor function and related biomechanics: The certified physical therapist analyzes muscle tone, contractile capacity, coordination, and overall pelvic floor function, using advanced instrumentation including Spinalmouse, Spirotiger, and ThermoBreathScan CM for a comprehensive assessment of pelvic biomechanics, sacral mobility, and synergy with the diaphragm.
  • Longevity Doctor Anamnestic Examination.: If the subject is not from one of our diagnostic pathways, he or she undergoes a thorough anamnestic examination to assess habits, behaviors, familiarity, and medical history.
  • Definition of the personalized treatment plan: Based on the results of the evaluation, the physical therapist and the doctor define the rehabilitation course best suited to the patient’s individual needs.

Module 2 – Pelvic Floor Re-education (10 sessions)

  • Functional reeducation program: 10 individual sessions with the certified physiotherapist, focusing on the re-education of the pelvic musculature through manual techniques, activation and release exercises, proprioceptive work on swiss ball and functional respiratory stretching. Special attention is paid to the synergy between pelvic floor, thoracic diaphragm, and inspiratory and expiratory myofascial chains.
  • Home exercise program.: customized work sheet to be performed on a daily basis between sessions to consolidate progress made in the clinic.
  • Interim evaluation: monitoring progression and adjusting the treatment plan.

Module 2. alternative – Re-education with Radiofrequency (10 sessions)

  • Combined reeducation + radiofrequency sessions: 10 sessions that integrate reeducational work with the use of state-of-the-art radiofrequency devices. Radiofrequency acts deeply on the pelvic floor muscles, stimulating involuntary muscle contraction and promoting the recovery of tissue tone and elasticity. This noninvasive and painless technology allows significantly enhancing the results of functional reeducation, accelerating the restoration of muscle strength even in cases where the patient has a reduced capacity for voluntary activation.
  • Continuation of the home program.: Updating the exercise sheet to accompany the strengthening phase with radio frequency.
  • Final evaluation: Evaluation and quantification of the improvements achieved by repeating the initial diagnostic tests.

The program is implemented by a multidisciplinary team consisting of:

  • Certified physiotherapist: Responsible for functional assessment of the pelvic floor, conducting reeducational sessions, and using radiofrequency technologies. Guides the patient on the path to recovery of muscle function.

Longevity Doctor: oversees the entire program, coordinates the team and evaluates progress, suggesting any changes to optimize achievement of goals.

The program is coordinated by:
Certified Physical Therapist, responsible for functional assessment and conducting the course of treatment.
Longevity Doctor, clinical supervisor and guarantor of the integration of treatment into the patient’s overall health framework.

The multidisciplinary approach allows for a systemic view that goes beyond the local disorder.

The program includes pelvic floor function assessments at the beginning, midway, and end:

Functional assessment of the pelvic floor: analysis of muscle tone, contractile capacity, and coordination.

At the end of the course, initial assessments with quantification of benchmarks are repeated in order to assess progress and define any recommendations for maintaining results over time.

We do not just treat the symptom. Our team assesses the pelvic floor in the context of the entire postural, respiratory, and functional system, offering a pathway that aims for complete and lasting recovery. It is an approach consistent with our vision of longevity medicine: preserving and optimizing body function over time.

The Pelvic Floor Re-education Program is available by appointment. The duration of each session is about 60 minutes, subject to assessment sessions that may require about 30 additional minutes.

Prior to the start of the program, it is recommended to conduct one of the check-up programs made available. If a preliminary check-up has not been performed, the program can be preceded by a series of diagnostic evaluations to further tailor therapeutic interventions.
