Module Objectives.
The Cardio-Respiratory Specialist Diagnostic Module aims to analyze in depth the patient’s cardiac and respiratory function, with particular attention to the response of the heart, lungs and muscles under physical exertion. The module provides accurate indications of the patient’s exercise capacity and tolerance and offers key data for the Management of chronic, cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases. CPET, in particular, is diriment in preoperative evaluation for cardiac and pulmonary transplants and for management of operative risk in major surgeries. The hematochemical panel also focuses on more advanced markers related to cardiovascular risk such as homocysteine and lipoprotein A.
Benefits for the Patient
The Cardio-Respiratory Specialist Diagnostic Module offers an in-depth analysis of the cardiopulmonary system, ideal for those patients who require a specific assessment of their functional capacity under stress. The CPET test, in addition to being an important indicator for exercise tolerance, is critical for the Management of chronic, cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases. The data obtained allow precise recommendations for functional reconditioning and safe physical activity appropriate to the patient’s profile. The addition of ultrasonography of the neck vessels ensures a comprehensive assessment of cardiovascular risk.
Medical Staff
The Cardio-Respiratory Specialist Diagnostic Module is delivered by a Specialized Cardiologist, who coordinates CPET testing and ultrasound of the neck vessels. The cardiologist is also responsible for interpreting the results and making recommendations for the patient. In the case of patients not previously evaluated, the entire diagnostic process also includes a medical history examination with the support of a Longevity Doctor.
Technologies Used
The Cardio-Respiratory Specialist Diagnostic Module integrates the following advanced diagnostic technologies:
– CPET (cardiopulmonary exercise test): cardiopulmonary exercise testing is a noninvasive functional assessment method used to measure the capacity and response of the cardiovascular, respiratory, and muscular systems during exercise. This examination provides accurate data on how the heart and lungs respond to physical stress and allows assessment of exercise tolerance.
– Ultrasound of the vessels of the neck: a noninvasive ultrasound examination to assess the status of the blood vessels in the neck, with particular attention to the presence of atherosclerotic plaques or other vascular abnormalities, which may affect blood flow and increase cardiovascular risk.
– Medical History and Medical Examination (In the case of patients not previously evaluated): for patients who have not previously performed a check-up form, a thorough medical history examination is conducted. During this visit, the following are collected Detailed information on the patient’s behaviors, habits, familiarity, and medical history, to enrich the assessment and personalize the diagnostic pathway.
– SolCARDIO blood panel. : Panel analyzing key parameters of cardiovascular function and new standards such as Homocysteine and ApoB/A and LpA
Timing and Results
The results of the CPET and ultrasound are interpreted immediately by the cardiologist during the visit. At the end of the session, the patient will receive a detailed assessment of his or her cardiopulmonary condition, with specific recommendations for the management of his or her cardiovascular and respiratory health and physical activity.
Access method
The Cardio-Respiratory Specialist Diagnostic Module. can be booked online or by phone contact. The duration of the entire diagnostic module is about 1 hour and 30 minutes, if performed following a previous check-up or diagnostic module at the clinic. In case the patient has not performed any other check-ups, a medical history examination is added, which takes an additional 30 minutes.
Preliminary Recommendations
Prior to the CPET test and ultrasound, the patient should wear sportswear and bring along any previous medical reports or examinations. For patients who have not had previous check-ups at the clinic, a medical history questionnaire will be provided to be filled out partially before the visit and completed in the presence of the physician.
Cost and Conventions
The public price of the module is 850€, net of any Level 2 laboratory panel that will be quoted separately. While not contracted with health insurance companies, the full range of health care services provided can be submitted for insurance reimbursement under one’s individual plan.
