When should you have check-ups for sports?

For exercise to be an effective engine of wellness and health, it must be tailored to the individual’s physiology and goals. This requires answering 3 key questions:

  1. What type of activity do you want to do?
  2. What level of intensity do you plan to apply to the sports activity: light, moderate, or intense?
  3. Are there any personal health concerns?
    • High pressure
    • Dyslipidemia
    • Alterations in metabolism
    • Overweight/obesity
    • Musculoskeletal problems

Additionally, some sports can put more strain on the cardiovascular system, while others may put more strain on the musculoskeletal system, especially if started after a period of inactivity or if there’s a goal to increase intensity over time.

Why choose Sport Longevity Hub checkups?
  • To determine the appropriate level of sports engagement
  • To prevent cardiovascular and musculoskeletal issues by identifying early-stage alterations, reduce the risk of injuries—especially as the intensity of physical activity increases—and design a personalized training plan.
  • Getting the Sports Fitness Certificate, which is required for amateur and pre-competitive activities, offers an opportunity to assess one’s physiological capabilities for various purposes.
Who are Sports Checkups recommended for?
  • For people who have not been active for years and aspire to resume regular physical activity or achieve particularly intense sports goals after proper preparation.
  • Occasionally active individuals who want to improve their performance, while being mindful of their health status and any limitations based on their physiology or history.
  • Regularly active individuals looking to intensify their sports activity or set pre-competitive goals by starting a personalized training plan.
  • Anyone who needs a fitness certificate for sports, including the issuance of the specific sports certificate and a thorough general examination.
For which sports is it recommended to have checkups?
Sport Longevity Hub checkups are highly recommended for high-performance sports such as soccer, tennis, paddle, running, cycling, swimming, triathlon, and more. For these sports, the fitness certificate includes a sports physical exam, resting and exercise ECG, spirometry, and urine testing. In addition, SoLongevity offers a comprehensive general exam with sport-specific assessments and extensive testing.

It evaluates the entire range of physiological systems impacted by sports practice, aiming to optimize performance and minimize risks. The Sport Plus Checkup also includes the issuance of a fitness certificate, which is required for amateur and pre-competitive activities.
